PRESENT YOURSELF...
Greek – paristemi
STAND BESIDE, BE AT HAND, READY
to YIELD out of strength
Present yourself a living sacrifice...
(Romans 12:1)
by offering the totality of who you are to Christ, every
day, in every action. Paul reminds us in Romans 12:1
that the actions of the body come from within the mind
and heart; we cannot separate them. Note the use of
the word, “THEREFORE” in this passage. It points us
to the preceding verses in which Paul proclaims the
wonder and riches of the mercy of God, available to
anyone and everyone. He goes on to say that is is “unsearchable;” that is, we can find no beginning to
it or any end. It existed before man and will exist after man.

The Romans 12:1 Woman, a six-week Bible study
They were ordinary women with extraordinary influence. Look closely at the culture and lives
of six unique women whose simple act of presenting themselves to God resulted in an impact
on the rest of history: Deborah; Mary, mother of Jesus; Monica, mother of Augustine; Sarah
Edwards; Lottie Moon; and Shirley Lindsay. Meet the women who presented themselves to
God and discovered His transforming power. By surrendering themselves to His call on their
lives, they influenced generations to come. As you study these, you will discover how their
choices – and yours – influence many. Move beyond the clamor of the culture and into deeper
intimacy with God. Surrender yourself to His call and find power and purpose that will allow you to continue the impact that these women began through your own Quiet Influence.

When we understand the nature of God and His love for us, we are, "therefore," immediately moved to genuine worship; that is, the presentation of ourselves.
